Krobar Single Malt Whisky 700ml
Description
Krobar ventures beyond American whiskey tradition with this single malt expression that showcases their versatility and ambition. Using 100% malted barley and pot still distillation, this whisky demonstrates that American craft distilleries can successfully interpret international styles while adding their own unique perspective. The result is a single malt that respects Scottish tradition while expressing distinctly American character through local ingredients and climate.
The color is golden amber with exceptional clarity. The nose reveals the quality of the malted barley—honey and cereal notes dominate, accompanied by orchard fruits like apple and pear. There’s a creamy vanilla character from American oak aging, along with subtle spice notes that add complexity. No peat smoke here, just clean, malt-forward aromas that showcase the grain. On the palate, the whisky is smooth and approachable, with flavors of honeycomb, fresh bread, citrus, and gentle oak creating a harmonious profile. The texture is notably creamy, coating the palate pleasantly.
This single malt serves as an excellent introduction to the category for bourbon drinkers, offering familiar sweetness with malt complexity. It’s equally appealing to single malt enthusiasts seeking American interpretations of the style. Best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water to open up the fruit notes, it also works well in cocktails where malt character is desired. The 700ml bottle size suggests international ambitions, positioning American single malt on the world stage. For those exploring the expanding world of American single malt, this bottle offers both quality and value, proving that great single malt isn’t exclusive to Scotland.
