Angel’s Envy Triple Oak Bourbon Whiskey 750ml
Description
Angel’s Envy Triple Oak represents an ambitious expansion of the brand’s finishing philosophy, taking their innovative approach to new heights with a three-wood aging process. This limited edition expression begins with their traditional bourbon aged in new charred oak, followed by finishing in not one but two different types of wine casks. The triple oak treatment creates unprecedented complexity, layering multiple wood influences to create a bourbon that pushes the boundaries of what finished whiskey can achieve while maintaining the smoothness and approachability that defines Angel’s Envy. The triple oak process creates an extraordinarily complex nose that rewards patient exploration. Initial aromas of vanilla and caramel from the new oak are enhanced by the first finishing cask’s fruit notes, then further complicated by the second finish. The result is a bouquet that might include dark cherries, figs, and blackberries from port influence, complemented by additional notes from the third wood – perhaps honey, apricot, or even tropical fruit notes depending on the specific cask types used. There’s also increased oak complexity, with notes of toasted wood, vanilla, and baking spices creating a rich tapestry of aromas. The palate experience of Triple Oak is nothing short of extraordinary, with each wood’s influence creating distinct flavor layers that reveal themselves sequentially. The entry might showcase traditional bourbon sweetness, followed by waves of fruit from the various wine casks, each adding its unique character. The multiple wood influences create incredible depth, with flavors that might include butterscotch, dark chocolate, various stone and dark fruits, nuts, and complex spice notes. The finish is remarkably long and evolving, with different wood influences taking turns in the spotlight, creating an ever-changing flavor experience that continues to develop long after the sip. This expression represents Angel’s Envy at their most innovative, proving that thoughtful wood finishing can create complexity rivaling the finest aged bourbons.
