Ayiti Bitters Company Fey Anme
Description
Discover the mystical flavors of Haiti with Ayiti Bitters Company Fey Anmè, a unique bitter that captures the island’s rich botanical heritage and spiritual traditions. The name, meaning ‘bitter leaf’ in Haitian Creole, reflects the use of traditional medicinal herbs that have been part of Haitian culture for centuries. This artisanal bitter represents more than flavor—it’s a liquid connection to Haiti’s African roots and Caribbean evolution.
The deep amber-green color hints at the herbal intensity within. The nose is immediately transporting—intense herbal notes reminiscent of traditional Haitian remedies, with dominant notes of bitter herbs, roots, and leaves. Wormwood-like bitterness mingles with tropical botanicals, creating an aroma that’s both familiar to bitter lovers and exotically different. On the palate, intense herbal bitterness is balanced by subtle sweetness, with flavors of medicinal herbs, citrus peel, and unique tropical botanicals creating complex layers.
What makes Fey Anmè special is its connection to Haitian ethnobotanical traditions. The recipe draws from generations of knowledge about local herbs and their properties, creating a bitter that’s both cocktail ingredient and cultural artifact. The use of indigenous Haitian botanicals creates flavors impossible to replicate elsewhere, making this a true taste of place. This authenticity and uniqueness have made it a favorite among bartenders seeking distinctive flavors.
Use sparingly in cocktails where its intense herbal character can add complexity—excellent in rum cocktails to enhance Caribbean character. Also traditionally used in small amounts as a digestive aid. For those exploring global bitter traditions, Ayiti Fey Anmè offers a rare taste of Haitian heritage in concentrated form.
