Description
Return to the birthplace of vermouth tradition with Antica Torino Rosso, a luxurious sweet vermouth that captures the essence of 19th century Turin in every sip. This flagship expression represents the pinnacle of Italian red vermouth, using time-honored recipes and production methods that have been largely abandoned by commercial producers. The result is a vermouth of extraordinary depth and complexity that reminds us why Turin became synonymous with the world’s finest aperitif wines. The deep garnet color with amber highlights speaks to quality wine and careful aging. The nose is immediately captivating—rich notes of dried fruits and candied orange peel mingle with complex herbs and spices. Vanilla and caramel from barrel aging add depth, while the characteristic wormwood bitterness provides backbone. Christmas spices including cinnamon and clove create warmth. On the palate, Antica Torino Rosso delivers layers of flavor—initial sweetness of fig and date gives way to complex bitterness and spice, with the wine base providing structure that carries the botanicals beautifully. What distinguishes this rosso vermouth is its commitment to historical authenticity combined with uncompromising quality. Using only Piedmontese wines and natural botanicals, the production follows traditional methods including extended maceration and patient aging. The recipe, inspired by historical Turin formulations, creates a vermouth that tastes of another era—richer, more complex, and more satisfying than modern commercial versions. This is vermouth as art rather than commodity.Magnificent in classic cocktails like the Negroni or Manhattan where its complexity can transform the drink. Also sublime sipped neat or with soda as a traditional aperitivo. For those seeking to understand why vermouth became central to cocktail culture, Antica Torino Rosso offers a taste of history in its most delicious form.
