The controversial 1989 Bonny’s Vineyard Cabernet is a “love it or hate it” wine.The herbaceousness has the upper hand in the strong vegetal aromatic profile that dominates.Yet it remains a well-endowed, rich, full-bodied, impressively-constructed and extracted wine with copious amounts of cassis fruit, but be forewarned, the herbaceous character is at the limit of acceptability.This wine, first reviewed in issue 89, is repeated to remind readers that the 1990 Silver Oak Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley and Napa cuvee, as well as the 1989 Bonny’s Vineyard Cabernet have finally been released. – Robert M.
